The Centre for Materials and Microsystems (CMM) is an applied research centre that operates in the following areas of science and technology: materials and interfaces, devices and microsystems, integrated systems.

The strategic mission of the CMM is scientific excellence combined with the ability to exploit the results of research. The innovation model is open to collaboration in networks of expertise both nationally and internationally.

The activities of the CMM are grouped into three distinct areas organised in the following Research Units:

MNF -  Micro Nano Facility
MST - Micro System Technology
FMPS - Functional Materials and Photonics Structures
IRIS - Integrated Radiation Imagers and Sensors
ARES - Applied Research on Energy System
LISC - Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Computational Science
3DOM - 3D Optical Metrology
